As of March 29th 2017 trademark application file wrappers will be freely available online.
Exceptions will be evidence pertaining to contention over the registration, as long as parties to the contention have not completed the process of providing their evidence to each other.
Material regarding an application for permission for a party that is not the trademark applicant to use the trademark will also not be available for public view in accordance with IL Trademark Ordinance 51.
A reasoned application may be filed together with the filing of certain documents, requesting that the documents be confidential, for example if the documents constitute trade secrets.
